Hello! My name is Maureen Mackey and I enjoy telling stories of all kinds. I learned my craft by studying journalism, and when it comes to writing I’m a jack of all trades. I’ve worked as a newspaper reporter, magazine feature writer, book reviewer, and editor.
But what I enjoy most is writing fiction. When I was growing up I devoured the works of Jane Austen, and couldn't believe my luck later when I discovered Georgette Heyer's Regency-set novels. So it isn't too surprising that when I started writing novels I turned to the Regency era for inspiration.
Exploring the late 18th and early 19th-century history of England is one of my passions. I especially like finding connections between the past and present – I firmly believe the more things change, the more they stay the same.
I always love to hear from readers, so please don't hesitate to leave a comment or add insight to one of my posts.
And if you're interested in exploring topics from other historical eras, please check out my other blog, The History Hound.
Thanks for dropping by!
